How Sprout works.

Funding, spending, grow-back mechanics, fees and security — the reference for everything on the landing page, in more detail.

01

Overview

Sprout is a prepaid card for spending ETH, USDG and tokenized stocks settled on Robinhood Chain. It behaves like any other card at checkout — the difference is what happens after: a percentage of every purchase, set by you, automatically routes into a stock, ETF or RWA token. You spend the way you already do; grow-back happens in the background.

This page documents the mechanics behind the product tour on the landing page — read it alongside the interactive grow-back calculator and how-it-works walkthrough.

02

Funding & deposits

Connect a wallet or bridge supported assets onto Robinhood Chain to fund your card balance. Sprout is strictly prepaid: you can only spend what's funded, so there's no overdraft, no debt and no interest to track.

  • Deposits settle on-chain — balances reflect once the transaction finalizes on Robinhood Chain.
  • You can top up at any time from the dashboard; there's no minimum funding amount beyond covering a purchase.
  • Unspent balance stays in the asset it was funded in until spent or reallocated.
03

Spending

The card works anywhere Visa is accepted, in-store or online, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay for tap-to-pay. At checkout, authorization is instant; the underlying conversion and on-chain settlement (including the grow-back leg, below) finalize within seconds.

Real-time controls — freezing the card, capping spend by category, viewing balances as they move — are available from the dashboard shown in the product preview on the landing page.

04

Grow-back mechanics

Grow-back is the mechanic unique to Sprout. On every eligible purchase, a percentage you choose (0.5%–5%) is calculated off the transaction amount and routed into your selected ticker — a stock, ETF or RWA token available on Robinhood Chain.

grow-back = purchase amount × your rate e.g. a $42.00 purchase at a 1.5% rate routes $0.63 into your chosen ticker

Grow-back conversions happen at no added spread — the fee schedule below is the complete cost structure, there's no hidden markup on the routing itself. Contributions compound over time the way any recurring investment does; see the calculator for a 12-month projection based on your own spending.

Grow-back invests in a real asset whose value can rise or fall with the market. Sprout does not guarantee returns, and past illustrative figures on the landing page are for demonstration only.

05

Supported assets

Card funding currently supports:

  • ETH — bridged onto Robinhood Chain
  • USDG — the chain's native stablecoin
  • Tokenized stocks — available on Robinhood Chain

Grow-back tickers draw from the same catalog of tokenized equities, ETFs and RWA tokens; you can change your selected ticker at any time. Past contributions stay in the asset they were purchased in — only future grow-back routes to a newly selected ticker.

Security & custody

Sprout is not a bank. It's a prepaid card backed by assets you hold on Robinhood Chain — there's no lending, no deposits held on a Sprout balance sheet, and no FDIC coverage. Every transaction, including the grow-back leg, settles on-chain and is auditable.

Because the card is strictly prepaid, there's no overdraft exposure: you can only ever spend what's funded.
